KATE - MOTHERHOOD SESSION
After having my second child and adjusting to being a mum of two, it was very apparent that we had many professional pictures of our first child but not so many of our second and no pictures of us as a family of 4. The thought of going to a studio with 2 under 2 was very daunting and so I kept putting it off.
I met Claire through a friend of mine and I was immediately impressed by her warmth, patience and professionalism. Claire explained she offered natural in-home photography and I was hooked.
I contacted Claire a fews weeks later and set a date. Prior to her visit, she sent me alot of helpful information and closer to the date we had a call. One of the things I was worried about was our dogs, one of which gets nervous around people. Claire reassured me and was still happy to come over.
On the day Claire was so accommodating of our mad house, so patient with my toddler who was in his own world however he took to her so well. She was also patient with my husband who is not big on pictures and had him smiling by the end of the shoot. I was worried about how the day would go, but didn't need to be at all. Claire was so calm, warmth and reassuring which just made it that much more special for us.
We got a chance to see a sneak peak of one of the pictures and I got so emotional. The picture was beautiful, wholesome and captured us all with such love. Our first offical pitcure as a family of 4 and cant wait to see the rest.

For someone who hates having their picture taken - too busy scrutinising myself instead of remembering the memories of the photo - I was apprehensive about having some photos taken with our little boy.
I needn’t have been.
The session was extremely relaxed and unstructured. We actually carried out our usual routine and whilst chatting away, Claire was unobtrusively taking snapshots of a daily life that comes with having a newborn - changing, feeding, crying, smiles.
We couldn’t have been happier with the images - all professionally shot and captured just ‘us’ at home, with our little boy.

I spent a fabulous 45 mins with the lovely Claire Roads Photography.
Claire has a vision, to get us Mums out from behind our smartphones and in the pictures rather than taking them. As M and I lolled around the garden, chatting with Claire, I realised a couple of things.
First, M doesn’t give a sh1t that I am constantly telling myself to be on a diet, he doesn’t care that I have grey hairs and laughter lines. He just loves me. Second, Claire is so clever I didn’t even realise she was taking photographs.

We recently had a home photo shoot by Claire, and what she gave was nothing short of perfect. From the moment Claire stepped in the door we were relaxed and comfortable, she has such a natural calmness that instantly puts you at ease.
There are no staged photos, no count downs to smile and no forced directions, just Claire and her camera waiting to capture your world in her photos.
We honestly cannot recommend her enough and there's no doubt that we will book her in again, and again.....and again!

Claire visited us at home and took photos of me, my partner and our 2 daughters - aged 3 years and 2 weeks old.
I was very nervous about the whole thing - what to wear, how I was going to look, what happens if the children played up and so much more…. But I needn’t have worried. Claire made me and all of my family feel at ease. She sent us lots of very helpful information beforehand about what to expect and some very helpful tips.
When Claire arrived she dealt with our 3 year old with pure professionalism and was friends with her within the first few minutes of her arrival. We had normal every day conversation and a cup of tea and without even realising it, Claire was taking pictures.
The pictures are more than perfect, and all very natural looking (the last thing I wanted was for them to appear like we were posing!). We absolutely love them and could not recommend Claire enough for capturing so many special moments of our family. Thank you so much!
We couldn’t have felt more relaxed during our session with Claire, she seems to have that very natural ability to make everyone (including the children) feel and be at ease.
I would say we really didn’t have any idea what moments Claire was capturing during our session as we were just being us, having some family fun playing together and eating snacks, but we couldn’t have been more delighted with the professional photographs we were presented with following our session.
We absolutely adored all of the images, each capturing something different and uniquely special to our family. They are frequently lovingly gazed at and fill our hearts with such happiness.

We booked Claire to take some newborn family photos for us, we wanted some natural family photos at home so we could include our dog too.
As our first was born during Covid we didn’t get the opportunity to do this so were really keen to get some nice family photos to put up around our new home.
Claire was absolutely amazing, she was super relaxed and friendly. She kept our three year old entertained whilst we were occupied with the baby, he took to her so well I’m surprised he didn’t offer to become her assistant!
The session was completely relaxed and she was led by us. She didn’t make us take any shots we would have felt uncomfortable with.
We really enjoyed the session and can’t wait to see the edited photos!
We would definitely ask her to come back to take more photos of us as a family at a later date.
She’s lovely to work with and we would highly recommend her if you’re looking for a newborn/family photographer.

I started following Claire’s work as a supportive school Mum friend and quickly fell in love with the beautiful shots she captures.
Claire’s passion for getting Mum’s in the shot was something that really resonated with me. So often I’m the one taking the photos or I hate the ones that I’m in. After losing my Mum I realised how important it is to our children that we have photos to look back on that include us.
Before the shoot I felt very nervous as it’s not something my husband and I have ever done before. I wasn’t sure how the boys would behave, whether our baby would be in a good mood after his nap. I needn’t have worried.
Claire put us all at ease instantly with her natural, calm, friendly nature. The boys loved her suggestions and quickly got into the swing of it. I loved sitting back watching them have fun and the special moments of cuddling in close together.
I would recommend Claire to any Mum’s that would love to get some natural, fun shots to capture their family as they are in this moment. She will put you at ease so you feel 100% confident and natural in whichever setting you choose.

In the lead up to the photoshoot, Claire was extremely professional, in constant contact, reassuring me what to expect on the day and giving guidance on what to wear which I thought was excellent as I had never had this from a photographer before.
Like most women I don’t like having my photo taken and felt a little daunted at first, but I loved how the session focussed on the children, it really took the pressure off us and made the session so much fun.
Claire was fantastic with the children. It was a shame that our little one got unsettled towards the end, but it wasn’t ever a problem.
The photos are amazing, I don’t know what Claire did, but they are magic, and I can’t wait to put them up.

I was nervous about having photos of our baby Teddy in case he wasn't that happy and to be honest my Husband wasn't keen on the shoot either in case it was the old fashioned "cringe" family photos you saw in the 90s...
Claire put us all at ease! As you will se from our photos they are so lovely and natural! Claire really captured "us".

From start to finish she was friendly, polite and reassuring about the whole photo session.
I was worried that renovating our house we would have no where nice to take photos! This was no problem for Claire and managed to get some beautiful shots! Claire was true to her word and nothing was posed… it was just us snuggling, doing family things and she snapped away!
Claire made us feel at ease and our newborn was the star of the show!! Can’t wait to use her again!

We recently booked a family photo shoot with Claire and are so pleased we did. We realised we had hardly any photos of us as a family, apart from a few selfies of course.
We are absolutely loving the ages of our two children right now and wanted to capture our family at this moment in a natural way.
The session itself felt really relaxed, we were just together in our garden having fun. Claire gave just the right amount of direction and totally got it if our children needed a few minutes break to run around and burn some energy.
The information Claire sent through before the session contained everything we could think of and she listened to any worries we had. During the session both our children asked her to take photos of them doing specific things, which she was more than happy to do.
Claire has so much passion for capturing moments that matter to you as a family, nothing felt fake or forced. The session was exactly what we were hoping for and the photos will be meaningful for us all.

I saw Claire advertising her Motherhood sessions on Instagram and immediately contacted her to find out more. I am terrible for avoiding photos and since having my little girl earlier this year only have a handful of photos of us together so I wanted to rectify that.

I recently booked Claire for one of her wonderful motherhood sessions. I can not recommend her enough.
I have booked Claire in the past for a family photography session which we really enjoyed. So I knew how amazing she is at capturing beautiful, natural moments so i just had to book her again!
We all love her kind, relaxed, no awkward posing style.
Claire fully engaged with my two (very cheeky) boys and they loved showing her their toys. The time flew by, it was stress free and totally child led.
