You know the drill by now.
It is (almost) the end of the month so it must be time for me to introduce you to another one of our AMAZING Kent Mums in Business.
There are *so* many wonderful businesses right on our doorstep which are owned and run by incredible local Mums and I really want to celebrate that (and them, because they are awesome!)
This month I have the pleasure of introducing you to the gorgeous Robyn Bennett, Birth Coach, Hypnobirthing Teacher and the proud owner of Meadow Star Birthing.
Some of you may remember Robyn as the lucky winner of my Mother’s Day Giveaway earlier on in the year.
When we first met, a “quick” cuppa turned into 2+ hours as we had so much to talk about!
It was *so* clear how much Robyn loves what she does and how passionate she is about helping women have a positive birth experience.
I was lucky enough to meet up with Robyn again recently at her home, we had some more tea (of course!) and I had the opportunity to talk to her all about her beautiful business...
Tell us about your Kent-based business and what services you offer?
The journey of becoming a parent is one of the most exciting experiences in life, but it can also be daunting, especially when it comes to giving birth.
When I found out that I was pregnant with my first child, I was so excited, but anxiety about the birthing process loomed over my head.
Despite family and friends' reservations about hypnobirthing being "woo-woo," I decided to give it a try to see if it could help alleviate my fears.
Little did I know that it would completely change the course of my life in so many ways.
After working hard to release my fears and learning everything I could about hypnobirthing, I gave birth to my first daughter in March 2019, and it was an incredible experience.
I was so impressed that I wanted to tell everyone about how amazing hypnobirthing was.
A year after my second daughter's birth at home, I decided to embark on my hypnobirthing teacher training to share my passion with the world, and Meadow Star Birthing was born!
What do you offer to your clients that no-one else does?
Meadow Star Birthing is a heart-led business that offers private 1:1 hypnobirthing courses and birth coaching to people in their own homes or virtually.
Additionally, I create free online resources like e-books for expectant parents and run online group masterclasses.
Where does your inspiration come from?
The inspiration for Meadow Star Birthing came from my daughters' names, as they changed my life forever and I am so blessed to be their Mum so this was an ode to them.
When booking my birthing babes and bosses, (client is WAY too formal for me!) I pride myself on being their "birth bestie and hypnobirthing cheerleader!"
For me, it's essential to connect with people on a personal level because being involved in such a special part of their lives means so much more than being just a teacher or coach.
Every time I receive the message that a baby has been born, tears are shed because I feel so honoured to be a part of such a life-changing experience.
What is your favourite part of your job
My favourite part of my job is watching how transformative birth can be.
From meeting someone for the first time who is riddled with anxiety, just like I was, to watching them have such a positive birth experience leaves me in awe of them.
Every single person who I have coached has made me incredibly proud of how hard they worked and advocated for themselves when the odds were stacked against them, and I've made lifelong friends along the way.
I feel so lucky and honoured to do this work.
Becoming a parent and giving birth is an incredible journey, but it can also feel stressful and scary.
However, with the right mindset, preparation, and support, it can be a beautiful, transformative experience.
If you're an expectant parent, I encourage you to explore hypnobirthing and find a supportive community that will help you have the birth experience you deserve!
