Ahhh, that got your attention didn’t it?!?!
It is that time again; almost the end of another month and it would usually be time for me to introduce you to one of our local Mums in Business.
This month however (seeing as we have recently celebrated Father’s Day) I wanted to do something a little different…
...and introduce you instead, to one of our Kent Dads in business 😊
This is the amazing Denver King; Kent Dad of two and the Director and Founder of DadSpace – a safe space for dads to talk, listen and share their experiences of fatherhood across the country.
I was lucky enough to be invited to meet with Denver at the end of one of his recent DadSpace meetings.
I had such a lovely morning. I got to chat with Denver about DadSpace, how it all started and all of the wonderful things it offers.
It was clear how much Denver loves what he does, how passionate he is about nurturing brotherly support between Fathers and how the other men in the group valued the space he has created.
Tell us about your business and what services you offer?
We offer ALL dads a safe place to talk, listen & share experiences of Fatherhood.
What do you offer that no-one else does?
There are quite a few good platforms out there for dads but mainly online.
DadSpace is quite unique as we offer two physical meetups, our sit-down events (sometimes with guest speakers) and the Walk & Talks.
In addition, we’ve just launched a dads exercise session, as we understand the positive impact exercise has on both your physical and mental health.
I believe by offering physical meetings you’re making the dads feel safe and at ease.
There is a myth that men don’t talk.
This is untrue.
If you give them a safe environment they WILL TALK!
Where does your inspiration come from?
From my personal experience as a Father.
I remember feeling quite lost and scared about becoming a dad.
I remember thinking “where can the dads go to talk about things”?
What if there was a place just for dads?
Surely that’s a good thing right?
Which brings me to here - DadSpace - Brotherly Support Between Fathers
What is your favourite part?
Meeting new dads and seeing what a difference DadSpace makes to them and their family.
There’s nothing more rewarding that helping people!
I really believe by giving dads this space it can have a positive impact on both the Father and the whole family unit!
If you would like to know more about the wonderful work that Denver is doing, please give him a follow (and your support) on social media and then spread the word about DadSpace to all of the Dads in your life, because it is really amazing.
